Watch the Application Guide
Clean & Dry
- Flush wound thoroughly and remove dirt & debris.
- Control bleeding.
- Clean thoroughly with alcohol swab.
- Dry Area completely. (Adhesive will not stick to wet skin).
Place & Press Firmly
Place device edges on each side of the wound, as close to the wound edge as possible.
Massage pads firmly into skin. The adhesive is pressure-sensitive, so firm pressure is required.
Pressure Reference: Think "strong handshake" or "firm hand massage" as a level of pressure to ensure a strong clinical bond!
Press Together
Press edges of device together until device edges make contact. Push in-line with the plane of the skin.
Pop-Up to Lock
Once the two sides are touching, pop-up the center of the device with an upward pinching action to close and lock it into a pyramidal shape.
Final Check & Cover
- Check the locking of the device by pushing down on the adhesive pads and trying to separate the two sides. If it separates, redo.
- The locked device creates tissue eversion (pushing closed skin edges slightly upward), which promotes optimal healing.
- Cover the area with a secondary dressing or bandage, if possible.
Healing & Protection
Your DermaQuik device is now securely in place, protecting the wound and promoting optimal, low-scar healing. Keep the area clean and follow standard wound care practices.
How to Remove DermaQuik
DermaQuik can be worn for up to 7 days. When it is time to remove the device, do not rip it off like a standard bandage.
- Gently peel the adhesive pad back on itself (pulling parallel to the skin, not up and away).
- Start from the outside edge and roll it slowly toward the center of the healed wound.
- If using the Sport & Extreme adhesive, you may use an adhesive remover wipe or baby oil to help dissolve the bond and protect fragile skin.
